Dear Nic,
ReplyDeleteThere is much to like about this project. First, you do well by keeping this on a singular theme, and by having the visual elements compliment this core idea. You're writing is clear and focused, and the images you chose, for the most part, added to the mood of the piece (as did your choice of music). My main suggestion is to consider pacing; though I appreciate that each line needed the emphasis you gave it, there is a way to progress the slides more rapidly. You want your viewer to stay engaged throughout, and so consider the places where the slides could move more quickly. That way, you can also choose where you want to slow down and place particular emphasis. By having each slide progress at the same pace (and slower than what the viewer needs to have read the words), you lose some of the ability to give weight to specific, poignant moments. Pacing will be important in the upcoming projects too--so choose your moments that you need to slow down and elaborate, and speed up those that can give energy to the piece overall. A very good example on the whole of how to put together words and images to create a lasting impact for the viewer.
